The Role
The Project Engineer – Europe assists the Company’s Project Manager across allocated projects, ensuring on‑schedule delivery, customer satisfaction and statutory compliance. Responsibilities include H&S management, installation progress and quality, material management and test & commissioning.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct site surveys and prepare documentation, considering security and fire risk factors.
* Plan fire detection, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems.
* Ensure system design specifications meet technical and regulatory standards (EN, BS, HTM, BAFE/NSI).
* Coordinate installation activities to adhere to the Company’s procedures and statutory requirements.
* Monitor and manage project progress.
* Adhere to Company policies on quality, health & safety and false alarm management.
* Provide reports to the Project Manager and other company officers.
* Carry out other job‑specific duties as directed by company directors.
* H&S reporting: Safe Starts, Toolbox Talks, Site Inspections, Plant & MEWP inspections.
* Quality reporting: snagging installation work, ensuring snags are cleared and documented.
* Report on progress, including mark‑ups of drawings or schedules.
* Liaise with the PM to ensure sufficient labour is available to meet project requirements.
* Attend site meetings as required.
* Accept the installation from installers, ready for commissioning.
* Commission & test systems, complete commissioning paperwork.
* Demonstrate operation of systems to client or client representative.
* Stay up to date with new technologies and regulatory standards relevant to the design process.
Person Specification
Essential
* Experience working on and project managing fire detection, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems to British and European Standards, and knowledge of BAFE/NSI codes of practice.
* Good working knowledge of the products and systems specified and any significant limitations inherent in such products.
* Understanding of installation requirements to create professional system design specifications that provide clear and unambiguous information.
* Ability to plan and monitor work to tight time scales and deadlines.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of reports and tender/contract submissions.
* Creative and innovative problem‑solving with customers.
* Establish good working relationships with colleagues, customers and external bodies.
* Influence, persuade and negotiate effectively at all levels.
* Proven understanding of specifications and technical drawings.
* Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable
* CSCS card (or equivalent).
* Experience of Eque2 or similar contract management software.
* Familiarity with MS Project or other project planning software.
Working Conditions
The role requires working in both office and construction site locations across Europe. Work may involve indoors and outdoors, regular use of personal protective equipment, night, weekend and public holiday shifts, and travel away from home as required.

* Compliance with accreditation schemes from NSI, BAFE, LPCB, FIA and others as required.
* Maximise customer satisfaction with services provided by the Company.
* Reduce, renew and recycle waste on and off sites, including offices.

* Work safely, preventing harm to self or others.
* Employees will not tamper with issued PPE or plant machinery that could cause harm.
* Ensure all minimum training requirements are met in compliance with relevant ISO standards.
* Report and resolve IT incidents promptly.
* Maintain clear desk and screen at all times.
* Maintain security of information systems, reporting any breaches.
