We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Management Operative to join our team at our site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Materials Management Manager, you will be responsible for controlling the materials and products used by production to ensure customer deliveries are met. You will work within the stores / safes which includes updating the inventory management systems including receipt, storage and distribution of materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely manage secure cages and safes, including checking cage cards, applying locks, controlling keys and ensuring dual‑control procedures are followed.
* Prepare and organise work within the safes for the following day, ensuring cages are sent to the correct machines in the right order.
* Move and store cages safely while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, legal and security requirements.
* Support stock accuracy through cycle counts and assist the Senior Material Management Operative with daily operational needs.
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Double Day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm or 2pm - 10pm (alternated weekly).
From 31st August, we will transition to a 24/5 Shift Pattern - consists of 3 crews of 12-hour shifts of either: 6.00 am to 6.00 pm; and 6.00 pm to 6.00 am, Monday to Friday rota. Attendance is 40 hours per week on average, including a 30-minute unpaid break plus a 15-minute unpaid break to be taken during the shift
Base location: Debden
Basic Salary: £36,292 per annum on Double Days, rising to £38,574 per annum on 24/5 shift pattern. Upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period, this will rise to £39,258 per annum.

* Experience of working in a warehouse environment
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise duties and efficiently complete responsibilities.
* Basic literacy & numeracy skills.
* Exposure to using computerised stock control systems advantageous
