Hourly rate: £12.21 — £15.00 per hour. Site dependant.

Main responsibilities
As a Retail Security Officer, you will be required to provide a visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with local authorities. You will carry out guarding duties in-store, including:
* Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
* Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities and working proactively to minimise risk
* Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable
* Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Carrying out colleague and contractor searches in line with customer company policy
* Digitally reporting incidents and using tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Providing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the Client and Local Authorities
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer, you should be a confident communicator capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You should be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict professionally.
Required Experience and Qualifications
You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role. Previous experience in a Retail Security role is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided. Applicants must be able to provide a full 5-year checkable work or education history. If invited to interview, please bring your right to work documents and a recent proof of address. You must have a current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence to apply.
