An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broadmoor High Secure Hospital for the Practice Development Nurse role.
As Practice Development Nurse, you will be responsible for promotion of continuous professional development for Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, and Health Care Facilitators in high secure services, ensuring that practice is contemporary and meets national standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that continuous professional development opportunities are available for nursing staff in the hospital.
* Ensure there are robust systems of effective secondary induction and preceptorship for staff in the hospital.
* Commission and undertake audit of clinical activity, performance and health outcome.
* Support the dissemination and introduction of practice standards related to competency expectations for all nurses within the hospital.
* Lead on quality improvement programmes as agreed with line manager.
* Contribute to or monitor clinical supervision arrangements within the hospital.
* Monitor and audit clinical supervision activity.
* Provide direct training and teaching to nurses within the hospital.
* Work with colleagues to ensure that nursing practice and interventions are evidence based.
* Work collaboratively to develop a structure and culture that promotes reflective practice.
* Contribute to policy development and evaluation.
* Actively contribute to the implementation and evaluation of the Nursing Strategy/Nursing Practice within the hospital.
* In collaboration with others work to ensure national policy is integrated into clinical practice.
* Benchmark national standards.
* Provide professional expertise and advice (i.e. complaints and investigations).
* Support Student Nurses on placement within High Secure Services when required.
