Shaw healthcare are currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance department based in our head office in St Mellons, Cardiff.
Hours – 37.5 Hours per week – Monday-Friday (Hybrid working once induction has been completed)
Salary – up to £26,000 DOE

Objectives

Principal duties
Practice Expectations
At all times to provide excellent customer service for both internal and external clients and to work to the highest standards in all KPI’s
General Management
6. Assisting in the production of accurate and well-presented Management Accounts working papers in line with defined timescales.
7. Posting of journals including accruals, prepayments & deferred income.
8. Assisting non-finance colleagues with their understanding of budgets and financial performance.
9. Reviewing and authorising purchase invoices, checking for appropriateness, consistency of allocation and accuracy including maintenance order reviews.
10. Checking payment runs and resolving any BACS payment issues.
11. Recording payments and receipts accurately on a daily basis and reconciling company bank accounts on a monthly basis.
12. Ensuring that resident bank accounts and cash is appropriately safeguarded and recorded, statements are reviewed and filed.
13. Reviewing and preparing intercompany transaction journals for goods and services between companies.
Other responsibilities
14. Assisting with the external audit process, working in partnership with the Central Finance team.
15. Performance of any other reasonable duties which may be requested by the Line Manager in order to contribute to the achievement of the group’s objectives
Essential Criteria
16. Experience of assisting in the production of Management Accounts
17. Proficient in using a computer (good Microsoft Excel skills)
18. Experience of working in an office environment
19. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of people
20. Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload with established timescales
Desirable Criteria
21. Working towards or completion of AAT
22. Experience of working in a Healthcare company environment
23. Full clean driving license
