Estimator – Doncaster (Experienced or Graduate) Doncaster £30,000 to £55,000 A multi-million-pound turnover construction business based in South Yorkshire is seeking an Estimator to join its expanding Construction Division. Recognised as a growth leader within the industry and backed by over 50 years of success, the company continues to strengthen its pipeline of work and is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to support this growth. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) based at the company’s Doncaster office. The role is open to: Experienced Estimators with ConQuest expertise and 5 years’ experience, or Graduates eager to develop a long-term career in pre-construction. About the Role The Estimator will be responsible for accurately calculating total project costs, ensuring proposals are commercially robust and aligned with client requirements. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. The ideal candidate will bring a positive, proactive attitude, along with the ambition to grow and develop within a secure, privately-owned organisation. Key Responsibilities * Assess tender opportunities for accuracy and completeness * Develop measurement and pricing strategies * Attend tender launch, mid-tender, settlement, and handover meetings * Undertake site visits with pre-construction team members * Prepare supply chain enquiry schedules with commercial and construction teams * Communicate with key supply chain partners prior to enquiry issue * Issue supply chain enquiries via ConQuest Estimating Software * Complete internal take-offs using Bluebeam / On Sight software * Produce BOQs using ConQuest * Maintain strong relationships with local and national supply chain partners * Coordinate pricing based on design information and evaluate alternatives * Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and competitiveness * Undertake fixed-price analysis * Prepare job pricing comparisons for settlement meetings * Complete project CSAs * Support the preparation of Contractors' Proposals and PQQ submissions Essential Requirements (Experienced Route) Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator within the construction industry Familiarity with standard estimating procedures and methods Experience using ConQuest Strong commercial awareness Experience across sectors such as care homes, education, industrial/logistics, and refurbishments Ability to independently manage and progress your own jobs Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills High attention to detail and accuracy Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Graduate Route (Desirable) * Degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar * Strong numerical and analytical abilities * Motivated, organised, and eager to grow professionally * Willingness to learn estimating software and tools What’s Offered * Competitive salary * Car allowance * Opportunities for ongoing professional development * Supportive and collaborative working environment * Company pension * Free on-site parking * Professional membership fees paid * 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays * Referral incentive scheme
