Asda is looking for a Trade Planning Manager to work in our Trade Planning & Category Strategy teams on a full-time and permanent basis.
You will be joining us at an exciting time as we begin our journey to ASDA price and the simplification of our range and proposition. This is a key development role for anyone looking to broaden their skill set and would suit someone with a buying, marketing background.
You will business partner with the buyers in the team and be an intrinsic part of the business unit owning the trade plan and developing the category strategy.
This role reports into the Senior Trade Planning Manager for Trade Planning and Category Strategy, which is part of the commercial team, covering all channels & formats.
The key responsibilities include:
1. Being the point of contact with the customer team to translate and deliver the brief set from the strategic trade plan across all channels.
2. Developing the category strategy programme alongside the business unit, working with the customer team using analytics & insight to build a winning trade plan that delivers our growth objectives.
3. Ensuring legal and compliance messages are communicated to the customer.
4. Developing the strategic plan for space & range as part of the category strategy output.
5. Running the post-launch review process for range change and promotions using existing processes.
6. Collaborating with other marketing coordinators on wider food and team initiatives as required.
About You:
1. Experience in buying, category management, or trade planning.
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider, matrix team structure.
3. Experience of working with customer data to turn into action-oriented plans.
4. Comfortable handling admin tasks and meeting deadlines.
5. Ability to handle conflicts, often with senior team members.
6. Influencing skills at different levels across the business.
