Senior Quantity Surveyor role at Mott MacDonald. We’re a global engineering, management, and development consultancy. As our Environment and Water portfolio grows, we are seeking a dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong enthusiasm for partnering with our clients to ensure their complex projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
What you will contribute to the team
* Support Water Companies in delivering large capital programmes, providing an essential service, and improving the environment.
* Provide commercial support to a large project or programme of works.
* Ensure robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope and include risks and opportunities.
* Manage commercial inputs to the procurement process including ensuring that strategies are developed and agreed.
* Ensure contracts are properly managed in accordance with contract requirements including responses to communications, payments, programme submissions, etc.
* Ensure robust cost management is undertaken at all times.
* Proactive management of project and programme risk with mitigation plans in place and implemented.
* Develop strong client relationships across the organisation.
* Monitor that technical solutions meet technical standards, legal obligations, and client requirements.
* Use a systematic approach to critically examine situations from different perspectives, gather information, generate options, weigh risks, and make timely decisions.
* Involve and consult those affected by the decision and maintain/grow client relationships to anticipate needs.
Required for Position of Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Chartered Surveyor, ideally MRICS, with a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
* Experience with NEC Contracts and other target cost, or cost reimbursable contracts.
* Experience delivering commercial and contractual elements of heavy infrastructure projects.
* Experience in Contract Management.
* Background working within Consultancy or Main Contracting environments.
* Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
* Effective time management and ability to add value to projects.
* Customer focus with the ability to engage in sound relationships with the customer project team.
* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Excellent presentation and communication skills.
* Flexible approach to work; technically and commercially aware to deliver post‑contract service delivery and solve problems.
* Proactive and self-motivated with strong commercial knowledge.
* Willing to travel to client sites, with potential overnight stays.
Preferred, But Not Essential
* Knowledge and expertise in the water/wastewater industry sector.
