The Role Quantity SurveyorDue to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work across a range of construction projects, supporting both pre-contract and post-contract commercial activities while working closely with operational and management teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Contract DutiesTake off quantities for tendering purposes where requiredAssist the Estimating department with tender preparationCarry out estimating duties as requiredSupport budget setting and cost planningReview contracts and contractual documentationPost-Contract DutiesAppointment and management of subcontractors and labour-only subcontractorsPreparation of valuations and cost value reconciliation reportsCarry out cost investigations and reportingMeasurement and agreement of subcontract accountsIdentify, measure, and agree project variationsIdentify value engineering and cost-saving opportunitiesMonitor monthly cash flow against budget forecastsProvide contractual and commercial advice to managementMeasurement and agreement of final accountsAttend site meetings and present financial reportsPrepare subcontractor payments in line with CIS and VAT requirementsProvide monthly and quarterly cost/valuation reports to accounts and management teamsEnsure subcontractor insurances comply with contractual requirementsProduce management reports and commercial updates as requiredCandidate RequirementsMinimum 3 years Quantity Surveying experience within a construction contracting environmentThird-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related disciplineStrong knowledge of NEC, JCT and FIDIC forms of contractExperience preparing and managing contractual claimsKnowledge of Conquest estimating packages preferredStrong commercial awareness and cost management skillsAbility to identify cost-saving opportunities and deliver projects within budgetUp-to-date knowledge of pricing trends and inflation impactsAdvanced Microsoft Office and IT skillsStrong negotiation, communication and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage workload independently and meet project deadlinesFlexibility to travel across the UK where requiredWhats on OfferCompetitive salary package starting from £40,000 (DOE)Full-time permanent positionOpportunity to work on a variety of construction projectsCareer progression and professional development supportCompany PensionAnnual LeaveTo ApplyIf you are interested in this position, please apply below.Skills:Quantity Surveying BOQs Estimating NEC JCT FIDIC Microsoft OfficeBenefits:Paid Holidays Pension Fund ParkingWHJS1_NI
