Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Barnet, North London Start Date: October 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: £90 - £115 per day (PAYE, DOE) SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School ASD Unit, Barnet Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming Secondary School in Barnet who are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their SEND Unit from September 2025. The SEND Unit provides specialist support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ensuring they can access the curriculum in a structured and nurturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in SEND who is committed to helping young people achieve their potential both academically and socially. The Role: Supporting pupils with ASD on a 1:1 and small group basis Helping students access lessons through adapted resources and strategies Encouraging independence, social communication, and confidence Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to deliver tailored support Contributing to a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment What We're Looking For: Experience working with young people with ASD or other SEND needs (school or care setting) Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure Strong communication and teamwork skills A proactive, enthusiastic approach to supporting learning and development Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Why Work with Tradewind Recruitment?
