Job Title: Door Installation Engineer

Role Overview
The Door Isntallation Engineer will be responsible for the installation, servicing, repair, and maintenance of a variety of industrial and commercial door systems. Working to recognised industry standards, safety legislation, and client requirements, this role ensures doors operate efficiently, safely, and reliably to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, and test a variety of door systems, including roller shutters, sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, sliding doors, and folding doors.
Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and relevant standards (e.g., BS EN 12453, BS EN 12635).
Diagnose and repair faults in motors, control systems, safety devices, and mechanical components.
Carry out adjustments and calibrations to ensure proper alignment and smooth functionality.
Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments, ensuring all works comply with health and safety regulations.
Accurately complete service reports, job sheets, and parts requisitions.
Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients, including potential upgrades or system improvements.
Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source replacement components and technical information.
Adhere to company policies, site-specific safety rules, and industry best practice.
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven track record in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial or commercial doors.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.
Understanding of safety devices, control panels, and automation systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Ability to pass full security vetting (NPPV2 Full).
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
DHF or equivalent powered door safety certification.
IPAF, PASMA, or CSCS qualifications.
Experience with dock levellers, loading bay equipment, and associated access systems.
Basic IT skills for electronic reporting.
