Job Summary
Working primarily from our Workshop and Warehouse, this role is responsible for preparing AV systems ahead of on‑site installation. You will ensure equipment is correctly configured, labelled, tested, and documented so that installations run smoothly and systems perform as expected from day one.
You will also occasionally support field engineering teams with installations or deliveries, providing valuable onsite experience and exposure to real‑world deployments.
This role is well‑suited to someone with a practical mindset who enjoys hands‑on technical work. It is also ideal for engineers looking to move from regular site work into a more stable, workshop‑based role, while remaining closely connected to live projects.
Responsibilities
* Pre‑installation preparation of AV systems in the workshop
* Preparing and configuring connectivity for:
* Displays
* Microphones and speakers
* Balun extenders and signal distribution equipment
* Identifying unusual or non‑standard connectivity requirements
* Clearly labelling equipment inputs, outputs, and cables for onsite installation
* Identifying and preparing all cables required for site installations
* Producing clear documentation outlining how equipment should be connected and installed to industry standards
* Testing displays within 48 hours of delivery to the warehouse
* Reporting faults or issues promptly
* Stock control of AV consumables within the warehouse
* Attending regular internal meetings to review upcoming projects and schedules
* Occasionally assisting field technicians with installations or deliveries when required
What you’ll need
* A practical, hands‑on approach to technology
* Strong attention to detail and organisation
* A desire to understand how AV systems are built and connected
* Confidence communicating with colleagues in a professional manner
* A logical and methodical mindset
Technical knowledge (or willingness to learn)
* AV cabling and connectors
* HDMI signalling and common connectivity issues
* Basic audio signal flow
* Understanding of video conferencing systems
* Basic IP networking awareness
Experience
Experience in AV, IT, electronics, or a technical workshop environment is desirable, but not essential. We welcome applications from those looking to move from installations on sites to be at a more permanent location.
Familiarity with industry vendors is beneficial but not required
