Senior Ecologist
Location: Bristol
Flexible Remote Work: 2 days in the office/on-site, 2 days working from home
Salary: £36,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Role – Senior Ecologist:
As an Senior Consultant, you’ll be the go-to expert for leading your own exciting projects. Your role will involve:
* Conducting a variety of ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and habitat assessments (UKHab).
* Preparing comprehensive ecological reports, such as Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
* Advising clients on ecological constraints, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
* Collaborating with landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
* Supporting the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and planning applications.
* Liaising with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Contributing to fee proposals and tender documents.
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience.
* Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
* Proven experience in conducting and leading a variety of ecological surveys.
* Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG.
* Desired experience using GIS to produce highly accurate digital outputs (QGIS).
* Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail.
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or working towards it.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
* A full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
