Talent Hound Recruitment Ltd are delighted to be working with one of Yorks longest established manufacturing firms based 5 miles from York City Centre.
We are looking for a MECHANICALLY BIASED Maintenance Engineer on a full time permanant bases.
The working hours:
* 3-week rotating shift system, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes unpaid break.
* Shift A: 6:00am to 2:30pm (Shift A will work the Saturday rota from 6:00am to 10:00am)
* Shift B: 2:00pm to 10:30pm
* Shift C: 8:00am to 4:30pm (Shift C will cover the remaining callout hours on a call-out basis)
Responsibilities
* Repair, maintain, and attend breakdowns of all plant and machinery, including building maintenance, and any other work allocated by the Engineering Manager, Technical Engineering, Operations and Production Directors
* Assist with the upgrade of equipment and installation of new equipment
* Complete hot work permits to ensure this work is undertaken in a safe manner
* Ensure maintenance activities are controlled and do not pose a risk of cross contamination
* Undertake callouts as scheduled by the Technical Engineering Director
* Maintain daily work records
* Ensure all safe working procedures/instructions are followed at all times whilst performing maintenance and repair work
* Ensure all waste is correctly segregated and disposed of in the appropriate waste container
* To carry out daily maintenance, calibration and repairs of the Treatment Plant (training will be given), as scheduled and directed by the Engineering Manager/Technical Engineering Director
Qualifications / Experience
* Qualifications in mechanical engineering
* Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance and operation of all factory machines
* Good practical mechanical ability; and ability to work under minimum supervision
