Role: Maintenance Engineer (Shift Lead)

Working Hours: 06.00am – 18.00pm, 4on4off
Are you ready to take the next step in your engineering career? We’re looking for two proactive and skilled Engineering Shift Leads to join our team at the Egg Innovation Centre in Lacock.
As a Shift Lead, you’ll go beyond standard maintenance—leading and motivating your team, making key decisions under pressure, and acting as the main escalation point for complex technical issues. You’ll coordinate shift activities, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and play a vital role in continuous improvement and team development.

Role & Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the maintenance team during your shift, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
* Act as the primary escalation point for complex breakdowns and technical issues.
* Allocate and monitor daily maintenance tasks, ensuring planned engineering activities are delivered on time.
* Liaise with production and engineering management to communicate shift performance and improvement opportunities.
* Mentor and train team members, supporting their development and knowledge sharing.
* Drive compliance with food safety, health & safety, and industry regulations.
What we’re looking for:
* City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
* Significant experience in a food manufacturing/production environment.
* Minimum 5 years’ managing a multi- discipline team within a technical environment
* Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering equipment, especially process, production, packing and filling lines.
* Knowledge of PLC systems, automation, and control circuits.
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
* Advanced troubleshooting and decision-making abilities.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
