About the Function
Our Supply Chain and Manufacturing team are problem-solvers, sourcing, producing, and delivering our much-loved brands to delight customers around the globe. Over half of Diageo’s 30,000+ people work in Supply Chain and Manufacturing. It’s an intricate and sophisticated operation that’s the product of logistical, manufacturing, and technical collaborations.
About the Role
This role is based at Diageo’s Shieldhall packaging site. Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.
We are looking for energetic and adaptable HSE professionals, or those with strong production backgrounds, to join our Scotch Governance team in Scotland as Health, Safety, and Environmental Safety Coordinator. This role offers an excellent opportunity for development and preparation for senior roles within Diageo.
The purpose of the role is to help embed the Scotch Governance strategy and ambition at the Shieldhall site.As the HSE Coordinator, you will lead Scotch Governance activities at site with integrity; partnering growth and delivering world class reputation and help to “Build and sustain the solid foundation upon which Scotch ambition is built”.
Reporting Health and Safety Manager (South), your main responsibilities in this role will be to:
* Support Shieldhall site operations teams to deliver world class performance in HSE.
* Support, advise and mentor site leadership and operational teams to enable compliance to legislation and Diageo HSE policies, standards and protocols.
Some of the other key responsibilities are;
* Leading HSE improvement programmes aligned with Scotch strategy and site-specific requirements
* Embedding effective HSE risk management and safe systems of work processes into site and 3r party operations.
* Collaborating efficiently with site teams and wider Governance HSE coordinators to ensure consistent safety performance.
* Delivering accurate HSE KPI reporting and trend analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
* Overseeing development and implementation of the site environmental plan, ensuring compliance and sustainability
* Engaging employees through training programs and awareness campaigns to foster an environmentally conscious workplace culture.
* Leading initiatives aimed at reducing the company’s carbon footprint and promoting resource efficiency.
* Overseeing vendor acceptance testing processes to ensure new equipment meets Shieldhall's stringent HSE standards before deployment.
About You
You will work well within a fast-paced production team, make effective decisions, and thrive in problem-solving situations. You’ll bring energy and adaptability, with the ability to push forward improvements and share ideas that drive manufacturing excellence. Excellent communication skills are a must, as is a proactive approach to HSE compliance.
You’ll have demonstrable knowledge of health and safety legislation and environmental risk principles.
It’d be great if you had, or were willing to work towards, the following :
* NEBOSH Certificate qualification in Occupational Safety & Health and/or Environment.
* A proven track record in handling health, safety and, incidents and activities.
