Summary Lead the design, release, and development of PTSE components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, cost, and quality standards. Design & Development Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for PTSE components (CAD Engineer roles) Provide design direction for component CAD and approval of engineering drawings for PTSE components (Lead Engineer or Project Engineer roles) Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for design-related issues. Complete design validation through CAE/simulations, prototyping, and physical testing. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal specifications. Research emerging technologies and materials to enhance component performance. Drive cost reduction and weight optimisation initiatives without compromising quality. Contribute to design reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
Experience / Other Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field Automotive Engineering experience (OEM or Tier 1) preferred PTSE commodities, minimum a Powertrain commodity. Full UK driving licence (for roles based onsite in the UK). Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and automotive systems. Experience with FEA, DFMEA, and design validation tools. Familiarity with 3Dx or PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, TRM).
