You will conduct patrols, respond to incidents, write reports, and enforce the site traffic policy. IT literacy and digital competence are necessary for receiving and reporting on handheld devices. Clear, advanced communication skills are vital in managing complex situations, and the ability to put people at ease and make calm, quick, justified decisions with autonomy will be crucial as you may interact with individuals with mental health difficulties, dependency, learning difficulties or who are distressed or confused.
The position is full time, 37.5 hours per week, with shift patterns on a rota basis including days, nights, and weekends.

Main duties / Responsibilities
* Provide a pro-active, well-presented, professional, uniformed security presence for North Bristol NHS Trust, working unsupervised across all shifts.
* Respond to incidents on Trust property, investigate suspicious behaviours or criminal activities such as theft and anti-social behaviour.
* Remain calm and professional under pressure; respond to incidents with a high sense of urgency; support clinical staff during incidents as required.
* Assist with detention of patients under the Mental Health Act 2007 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 where appropriate; use of clinical holding and physical restraint where necessary and lawful.
* Ensure safety and welfare of Trust staff, patients and others; protect property from damage and theft; maintain a safe environment to reduce crime.
* Accurately record incidents, gather information, and complete detailed reports; maintain accurate records in pocket notebooks as required.
* Maintain security presence in ED on a rotational basis to minimise disruption to patient services.
* Attend fire alarm activations and assist with evacuations; uphold and enforce the Trust Parking policy; assist with car park cash collections and traffic management as required.
* Comply with national and local Health & Safety requirements; report health and safety breaches and near misses; uphold Equal Opportunities and Diversity policies.
* Support risk management by identifying risks or opportunities and implementing controls and contingencies; report uncontrolled risk to Security management.
Qualifications
* Essential: SIA License
* Essential: GCSE or higher for English Language (spoken and written)
* Essential: Minimum 2 years security experience
* Essential: Experience working for a large organisation
* Essential: Hold a valid UK Driving License
* Essential: IT literacy and proficiency in ICT
* Essential: Honest, trustworthy and credible; excellent communicator and people skills
