We're looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join a forward-thinking and supportive financial planning team based in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality advice support while working in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
This role offers hybrid working, with time split between home and our Birmingham office.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Prepare and maintain detailed client files and annual review packs
2. Build and analyse cashflow models to support financial planning strategies
3. Draft clear and compliant suitability reports and financial recommendations
4. Conduct independent and collaborative research to identify suitable financial solutions
5. Assist planners in comparing and analysing products and investment options
6. Liaise with clients, as well as their legal and tax professionals where needed
7. Oversee the implementation of advice, ensuring full compliance throughout
8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
What We're Looking For:
Knowledge & Skills
1. In-depth understanding of the financial planning process
2. Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, IHT, protection & tax planning
3. Excellent written communication skills, particularly in suitability report writing
4. Awareness of current market trends, regulatory changes, and product updates
Experience
1. At least 2-3 years of experience in a Paraplanning role
2. Previous experience in a financial planning or wealth management firm (minimum 1 year)
3. Familiarity with cashflow modelling tools is highly desirable
Qualifications
1. Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent Level 4 qualification)
2. Willingness to undergo background checks (DBS, bankruptcy, etc.)
