Overview
Locomotive Warranty Technician. Stadler, partnered with KiwiRail, is delivering low-emission locomotives as part of a $1.7b investment in rolling stock to enable better service and low carbon transport access in New Zealand. We require a Locomotive Warranty Technician to provide warranty support to Stadler project teams during the introduction and operation of new fleets.
Responsibilities
* Undertake commissioning activities, functional testing from testing of the wiring through to the static and dynamic commissioning of complete rail vehicles.
* Undertake fault finding utilizing software tools to identify the root cause and associated repair required of the electronic, electrical and electromechanical components.
* Responsible for the complete logging of the resulting test and measurement results.
* Preparing and accompanying test drives/runs.
* Operational support, troubleshooting and implementation of warranty work to ensure high availability of the rail vehicles.
* Undertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfaces.
* Providing mentoring and technical knowledge to colleagues, and liaising with the customer through each step.
* Identify and enable effective cross team organisation working relationships.
Qualifications
* Trade qualified in Electrical Mechanical/Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
* Extensive mechanical engineering skills.
* Ability to work in a team and at times unsupervised.
* Strong computer skills ideally using diagnostic tools.
Contract & Location
This is a two year fixed term contract with a likelihood of extension. The role will be based in Christchurch, New Zealand. We welcome applications from experienced technicians who would like to relocate; relocation assistance will be provided.
