An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Technician to work within The Forge CMHT and Tonna Mental Health Team. The successful candidate will support the Occupational Therapist in providing occupationally focused interventions to service users in the community to enhance quality of life, improve skills and occupational functioning. We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills, who is dynamic, flexible and motivated to join us in Swansea Bay University Health Board. Flexible shift pattern available between the hours of Monday to Friday 9-5 pm, working hours can be agreed on appointment. This post offers many opportunities for professional development.
Main Duties of the Job

1. Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3 e.g. NVQ or OCN related to Health & Social Care
2. Documented evidence of participation in training activities
Experience

1. Understanding of the role of occupational therapy
2. Relevant experience working within health, social or teaching settings
Skills
Essential criteria:
1. Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and/or groups
2. Effective written and oral communication skills
3. Ability to travel across sites to work and to carry out clinical tasks
4. Planning and organisational skills
5. Have the ability to reflect on own performance
6. Ability to undertake physical activity involved with therapeutic and care handling of patients using appropriate equipment e.g. hoists
7. Ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service and prioritise workload appropriately
8. Ability to promote a professional image of the Organisation
