This position is a Teaching and Research role within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at UNSW, to cover the work of academics within the school that have secured ARC fellowship appointments. The role involves high-quality teaching and research in transport engineering, with a focus on emerging technologies such as predictive modelling, real-time traffic analytics, and autonomous vehicle integration. You will join a leader in transport engineering, contributing to sustainable mobility and smart infrastructure in a dynamic research environment.
The role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
Location: Kensington, Sydney, Australia
Contract: Full-time, Fixed-term – 4 years
Salary: Level B, $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation

Responsibilities
* Undertake high-quality teaching and research in transport engineering, with emphasis on emerging technologies.
* Contribute to teaching, learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Utilise and/or design educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Engage in research with outcomes of high quality and impact, with potential for leadership and collaboration across disciplines.
* Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds; promote equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Collaborate with industry and pursue work-integrated learning opportunities where relevant.
* Demonstrate strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills; work effectively in a team.
* Align with UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, and comply with health and safety responsibilities.
Qualifications
* A PhD in a related discipline and/or relevant work experience.
* Proven commitment to staying up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and curriculum development at various levels.
* Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Desire and ability to contribute to high-quality research and potential research leadership.
* Experience or knowledge of industry engagement and work-integrated learning (desirable).
* Ability to support students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* High-level communication skills and ability to network with a diverse range of students and staff.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team and build interdisciplinary relationships.
* Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, policies and guidelines, including health and safety.
