Job Title: Deputy Design Authority (Hardware)
Location: Newport-On-Tay, United Kingdom
Salary: Circa £68,000 depending on skills and experience plus bonus scheme
Join a key hardware-oriented Deputy supporting the Systems Design Authority role at the forefront of the defence industry, applying your Systems Engineering and Digital Electronics knowledge to support radar systems used for national security.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Leading systems and electronics engineering testing, integration, fault finding, and diagnostics of complex Radar equipment.
2. Supporting the Design Authority team as a deputy.
3. Demonstrating comprehensive understanding of Systems Engineering, Digital Electronic engineering, and governance.
4. Using hardware design/electronics skills to ensure assurance, governance, and safety of Radar systems and sub-systems.
5. Applying ISO 15288 Systems Engineering principles throughout the engineering lifecycle of Radar systems.
6. Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure a consistent approach across the radar system.
7. Developing solutions for technical challenges and issues faced by Radar Systems.
8. Leading analysis activities and system design decisions with a holistic system understanding.
Your skills and experiences:
1. Strong background in hardware engineering (electronic/digital) and systems integration, including digital circuit design, VHDL, simulation, and testing.
2. Hands-on experience with complex Radar equipment for fault finding, testing, and acceptance.
3. Rigorous approach to safety concerns related to complex equipment.
4. Experience in Systems and Software Integration.
