We're looking for a VP Mobile Core Network to join our Mobile & Cloud Technology business unit.

The role reports to the Managing Director, Mobile, Cloud and Technology. Based in London or Amsterdam, you will lead and develop a team of mobile network specialists in driving our mobile technology strategy forward.
Job Purpose And Goal
Join us in driving the Mobile Core Network for Liberty Global Group, where you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our mobile future. You'll collaborate with our markets and ventures across Europe to strengthen Liberty's competitive edge and unlock new value in telecommunications.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of technological innovation, working with cutting-edge technologies including 5G, IoT, and Mobile Edge Computing. You'll have the chance to shape our network architecture, drive strategic initiatives, and lead the evolution of our mobile infrastructure.
Key Accountabilities
* Steer Mobile Core Network strategy, co-define architecture & roadmap for MNOs within the Liberty Global organization
* Drive continuous improvement of mobile network quality – RAN & Core - deployment & optimization, working with the OpCos to deliver tangible impact on customer experience
* Review, optimize and provide input on Mobile-related OpCo budget cycles
* Lead Strategic Initiatives on Mobile across Business Units, including Intelligent Networks, MEC, and Satellite
* Play an active role in advising and developing Liberty Global tech ventures on mobile-related investments
* Foster Continuous Improvement: Implement ongoing enhancements to Liberty Tech processes, systems, and tools for increased efficiency and innovation
* Actively contribute to the execution of NaaS & MPN, leveraging APIs & offering App developers the ability to customize mobile networks behavior
* Provide inputs and recommendations for complex RFQs, vendor choices, and other relevant decisions
* Actively participate in relevant standardization bodies & external events on behalf of Liberty Global
* Supercharge our people & culture with a customer-first purpose, mindset, and key skillset to attract and retain best-in-class talent
What You Bring To The Role
Experience & Expertise
* 10+ years of making tangible impact within the telco/technology domain, with at least 8 years leadership experience in mobile network & services, cloud, technical products, and platforms
* Deep expertise in 5G, IoT, MPN & edge/MEC (Satellite experience is a plus)
* Proven experience in Mobile Network Deployment and Operations
* Outstanding commercial and business acumen, expertise in M&A and Strategy domains
* Deep knowledge of 3GPP, CS & PS technologies, RAN architecture, equipment & software functionalities across traditional and emerging standards & vendors
* Strong understanding of cloud native & containerized network functions, DevOps, CI/CD & AI/ML, digital Technology
Education & Background
* Masters in Engineering or Computer Science
* Additional qualification in relevant area preferred
