Team Composition

Staffing includes a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist (1.0 WTE) – this post – plus a team lead (1.0), clinical nurse specialist (3.0), assistant psychologist (1.0) and an administrator (1.0).

Service Overview

The UCT provides assessments at the Emergency Department and to paediatric ward and medical wards (for 16‑ and 17‑year olds) at Hillingdon Hospital, as well as seven‑day follow‑up appointments for patients discharged from acute hospitals. On average the team sees 30 new cases per month, discussed with the team at first instance; if required, they are discussed with the consultant psychiatrist. The current caseload is not kept in the system but either transferred to another service for further input or discharged to primary care.

Once the urgent care outreach service (UCOS) is developed, the team will carry a maximum caseload of 10 active cases at any one time.
