Our client, a well-regarded alternative education provider, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher to join their growing team in Thrapston. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people who are unable to access mainstream education, supporting them in achieving academic progress and personal growth in a flexible and nurturing environment.
About the Role:
As a Teacher, you will plan and deliver high-quality, individualised lessons to students in non-traditional settings such as community spaces, homes, or outreach centres. Your focus will be on re-engaging learners who may have SEMH needs, SEND, or have experienced interrupted education. The role requires creativity, empathy, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalised lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of individual learners
Create a positive, supportive learning environment that fosters confidence and independence
Collaborate with families, carers, and external agencies to support holistic development
Monitor and assess academic and social progress, producing regular reports
Provide consistent encouragement, structure, and emotional support
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification is desirable; experienced unqualified teachers will also be considered
Previous experience working with students with SEND, SEMH, or in alternative provision is highly valued
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
A patient, flexible, and resilient attitude to teaching
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel between locations may be required)
