3. •Post graduate diploma/degree or equivalent qualification in Alcohol and Substance Misuse
Experience

4. •Assessment and management of problematic alcohol (& drug) users
5. •Risk assessment / management
6. •Managing staff

7. •Audit and research
Knowledge
Essential criteria
8. •Ability to engage challenging and/or acutely distressed patients in potentially hostile and/or antagonistic situations and use de-escalation techniques effectively.
9. •Knowledge of mental health disorders as well as their relationship to physical disorders, or vice versa.
10. •Communication skills to give and receive complex clinical details with patients, carers and colleagues in sensitive, potentially hostile situations.
