Responsibilities and Duties
We seek a Senior Engineer, Umbilicals, to lead technical activities in offshore deep-water projects. The role involves supporting all engineering phases of umbilical design, from feasibility to execution, within the project engineering group in Basingstoke.
Sought Profile
Extensive experience as a Subsea Umbilicals Engineer in large EPCI offshore projects, covering feasibility, FEED, tendering, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
Essential Skills/Experience:
* Conceptual, FEED, tender, and contract package preparation.
* Managing tender processes and supplier selection.
* Expertise in umbilical design, fabrication, testing, and knowledge of standards like API 17E.
* Reviewing design documentation and interfacing with topside, subsea, and installation teams.
* Supervising fabrication, testing, and offshore installation activities.
* Strong communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.
* Knowledge of QA/QC processes specific to oil & gas industry umbilicals.
* Specialist knowledge in design, manufacturing, installation, and operational activities.
* Understanding of subsea control and chemical injection systems.
* Experience with topside and subsea interfaces related to umbilicals.
* Troubleshooting and repair of umbilical and fiber optic cables is a plus.
Software Skills:
* MS Office.
* Familiarity with dynamic umbilical analysis software (e.g., Orcaflex).
* CAD skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
