Job Overview

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust offers a 6‑month locum post in the dynamic Haematology Team. The role requires interest in myeloma and general haematology, and enthusiasm for liaison haematology. You will work within the myeloma and combined haematology teams and collaborate with clinical and laboratory colleagues.

Our 21 consultants work closely with resident doctors and specialist nurses covering all specialist areas of haematology and support regional services such as oncology, paediatrics, obstetrics and major trauma. The team also collaborates across Wessex and Thames Valley, offering opportunities to develop regional pathways. The Trust supports consultant development through a Doctors’ Development Unit providing mentoring and coaching.

As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you progress. UHS is rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and ranks in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and recommendation. Flexible working is supported, and staff enjoy NHS discounts, a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and a generous pension scheme.

Southampton’s location on the south coast, close to New Forest, beaches and an international airport, offers a desirable living environment with lower costs and outstanding schools.
