The Opportunity
Join our expanding digital studio as a PHP Laravel Developer, where you'll collaborate with a talented team of 20 developers and designers to craft innovative digital solutions. With in-house mentorship and continuous training, you'll tackle a diverse portfolio of projects—from intuitive CMS platforms to sophisticated business management systems—while exploring emerging technologies like bespoke AI tools.
This role invites you to bridge creativity and code, working alongside designers and project managers to turn client visions into robust, scalable applications. You'll shape development standards, engage directly with clients to refine technical strategies, and contribute to projects that redefine industries. Key Responsibilities
As a developer, you'll be the cornerstone of our digital projects, orchestrating the creation of cutting-edge websites and web applications from concept to launch. Your expertise will drive the technical direction of projects, ensuring they're delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in our ongoing technological evolution, contributing to the improvement of our development processes and the adoption of new tools and frameworks to enhance our capabilities and efficiency.
* Estimate and deliver work on time and within budget
* Specify technical requirements for projects, including researching 3rd party resources e.g. API documentation
* Develop mobile responsive templates using HTML, CSS (SASS), JS, Bootstrap/Tailwind
* Develop interactive web applications using Laravel / PHP, such as CMS, / E-Commerce websites, CRM systems.
* Fully test layout and script across all browsers
* Manage and deliver client support tickets
* Liaise with clients to fulfil requests and aid project progression
Essential Skills/Knowledge
* 3+ years demonstrable experience (preferably in an agency environment)
* PHP / Laravel
* MySQL
* HTML 5
* CSS 3
* JavaScript / jQuery
* AJAX
* Experience using REST APIs (Google Maps, MailChimp etc.)
* Cross-browser compatibility
* Version control e.g. Git
* Experience with JavaScript frameworks e.g. Vue, Ember, Nuxt
Advantageous Skills/Knowledge
* Bespoke CMS development
* Linux Server Administration, domain management, email configuration
* AWS administration
* Other MVC frameworks such as Ruby
* WordPress
* Experience using CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Bootstrap, Foundation etc.)
* Experience with UX & UI design
* Adobe CC (PS & AI in particular)
* Familiarity with web prototyping tools (XD, Figma etc.)
