You’ll ensure full legal and environmental compliance, support the Trust’s sustainability ambitions, and drive continuous improvement across both hospitals.
So, if you’re motivated, knowledgeable, and passionate about making a real impact in healthcare, we’d love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead and manage the waste audit schedule, ensuring accurate reporting and continuous improvement using the Waste Manager system.
* Oversee the delivery of waste services across Sutton and Chelsea, ensuring full Trust and ISS compliance.
* Conduct audits, log all waste movements, and maintain precise documentation.
* Work closely with central teams to optimise waste collection schedules and identify efficiencies.
* Develop and deliver monthly Waste Segregation training to groups of up to 20 staff, enhancing knowledge and compliance across teams.
* Support Trust teams in improving recycling performance and achieving sustainability targets.
* Manage Waste Transfer Notes and coordinate delegated tasks with supervisors.
* Analyse waste data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience delivering waste management services within a healthcare environment.
* A genuine enthusiasm for waste management and sustainability.
* Comfortable to deliver clear and engaging training sessions on Waste Segregation to staff at all levels.
* The capability to act as the on‑site Waste Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Trust, working collaboratively with key stakeholders across both the client organisation and ISS.
* Strong influencing skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and support others.
* A proactive, positive approach to waste management that sets high standards and inspires colleagues.
* The ability to establish clear, measurable objectives that drive excellent service performance.
* Excellent reporting and analytical skills, ensuring all information produced is accurate, insightful, and meaningful.
* Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
* Competence in MS Office applications.
Nice to Have
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM).
