Land Agent - Ayr (Scottish Rural Practice)

Location: Ayr, Scotland
Recruiting on behalf of a leading rural surveying and land management firm

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Land Agent to join the Ayr office of a respected rural consultancy with a long-established presence across Scotland and Northern England. The business is known for delivering high-quality professional advice to farmers, landowners, estates and rural businesses, supported by multi‑disciplinary expertise and a strong regional network

The Opportunity

1. Agricultural & environmental consultancy
2. Compulsory purchase & utility claims
3. Landlord & tenant matters
4. Planning & development
5. Forestry & woodland management
6. Valuations, sales & lettings
7. Strategic rural business consultancy

The Ayr office is experiencing sustained growth, with increasing demand for skilled rural professionals across southwest Scotland. Recent recruitment activity highlights the firm's commitment to expanding its team in this region

Key Responsibilities

As a Land Agent, your core duties will include:

8. Managing a diverse portfolio of rural properties and agricultural clients
9. Providing valuation, management and strategic consultancy advice
10. Negotiating on behalf of clients for land, tenancy, access, compensation and development matters
11. Supporting compulsory purchase and infrastructure schemes
12. Advising on diversification, grants, rural support schemes and long‑term land strategy
13. Building strong client relationships through proactive, professional service delivery

About You

We are looking for an individual who is:

14. Professionally qualified (MRICS / working toward chartership)
15. Experienced in rural practice, land management or agricultural consultancy
16. A confident communicator with strong negotiation and client‑facing skills
17. Commercially aware, adaptable and able to manage varied workloads
18. Motivated to develop professionally within a supportive and expanding team environment
