About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will:
Hold and manage a complex caseload involving children in need, child protection, and care proceedings
Deliver high-quality assessments, interventions, and outcome-focused plans
Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families to reduce risk and improve outcomes
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
Provide mentoring, consultation, and guidance to less experienced colleagues
Support reflective practice and practice development across the team
Produce high-quality case recordings, assessments, and court reports
Attend and contribute to professional meetings including core groups and multi-agency meetings Flexible & Hybrid Working

Workers are expected to attend the office 3 days per week
All children must be seen face to face
Laptop and smartphone provided to support agile working The role may occasionally require flexibility outside normal office hours in response to urgent service needs.
What We're Looking ForEssential Qualifications
MA/MSc/BA/BSc in Social Work or equivalent HCPC-approved qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS)
Registered Social Worker
Enhanced DBS clearance
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Essential Experience
Significant post-qualifying experience within statutory children's services
Experience working with children and families with highly complex needs
Strong understanding of safeguarding, care proceedings, and child protection processes
Experience of multi-agency working and partnership collaboration
Ability to mentor and support less experienced staff or students Knowledge & Skills
You will demonstrate:
Strong assessment and intervention skills
Excellent understanding of attachment, resilience, risk, and child development
Ability to apply legislation, policy, and case law effectively
Skilled communication in high-risk and challenging situations
Strong analytical, reflective, and report-writing abilities
