Learning Enrichment Dyslexia Specialist (Dyscalculia / Maths Specialism)
Term Time (33 weeks) – 1 day per week or 2 days per week. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic specialist to provide key SEN support on a 1:1 basis, working closely with teaching staff to ensure effective provision and that learning needs are met.
Responsibilities
* Provide personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis, supporting pupils in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level.
* Adapt learning and use strategies recommended in Personalised Support Plans (PSPs) to make the curriculum accessible for pupils with specific needs.
* Monitor progress, feed back to the class teacher and the SEN team, and work closely with relevant staff to help each pupil reach their full potential.
* Deliver pastoral support and promote the school’s ethos of encouraging enquiring minds and building pupils’ strengths, interests and experiences.
Qualifications
* Level 5 SpLD (or working towards).
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including speech and language support.
* Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies, and ability to work with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate pupil progress.
