We are looking for a Mechanical Estimator with experience in mechanicalservices contracting—particularly with prefabricated solutions—to join our teambased in Maidenhead. The successful candidate will be responsible fordeveloping detailed and competitive mechanical estimates for HVAC systems,chilled water pipework, plantroom packages, and prefabricated mechanicalassemblies, including steel support structures and gantries.
This is a key role withinthe commercial team, supporting tenders and live projects across the UK, Europeand Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review tenderdocumentation and produce detailed mechanical cost estimates forprefabricated plantrooms, pipework systems, steel gantries, and associatedservices.
* Prepare materialtake-offs and liaise with in-house fabrication teams, supply chain, andsubcontractors for accurate pricing.
* Assess drawings andspecifications, identifying value engineering opportunities and potentialdesign efficiencies.
* Support commercialteam with project budgeting, cost planning, and post-tenderclarifications.
* Work closely withproject managers and engineering teams to ensure estimate alignment withproject delivery strategy.
* Maintain and updatea database of cost rates, materials, and supplier information.
* Attend site visitsand pre-tender meetings where necessary.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years’experience as a Mechanical Estimator in a building services or MEPcontracting environment.
* Experienceestimating for prefabricated mechanical systems, modular plant rooms, pipework systems, and steel support frameworks.
* Good understandingof HVAC systems, chilled water pipework, and public health installations.
* Ability tointerpret detailed technical drawings and specifications.
* Strongcommunication and negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers andinternal stakeholders.
* Proficiency inExcel and relevant estimating tools.
* Background workingwith M&E contractors in the data centre, industrial, or commercialsectors.
* Understanding offabrication and off-site construction methods.
* Familiarity withBIM models and digital take-off tools.
