Role Overview – Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their precision engineering team. This role provides end-to-end manufacturing process support, from initial design and 3D modelling through to process planning, document control, and CNC programming for the shopfloor. You will play a key role in introducing new and existing products into full-scale production, applying lean manufacturing principles to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions.
Working closely with production, quality, and project teams, you’ll ensure components are delivered on time and within budget while driving continuous improvement across machining processes.
Key Responsibilities – Senior Manufacturing Engineer
* Plan and design manufacturing processes from concept to completion, focusing on waste reduction and efficiency.
* Generate and prove-out CNC programs for milling and turning (3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines) to guarantee first-time quality.
* Produce accurate stage drawings, setup sheets, tooling documentation, and SOPs.
* Support new product introduction (NPI) projects and assist operators during prove-out.
* Design and select tooling and fixtures to enhance machining capability and efficiency.
* Collaborate with quality teams on PFMEA and non-conformance resolution.
* Lead technical discussions with suppliers and customers, delivering robust engineering solutions.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support strategic projects for business growth.
Key Experience & Qualifications – Senior Manufacturing Engineer
* Strong CNC programming experience (offline) for milling and turning in a precision engineering environment.
* Proficient in CAD/CAM software and 3D modelling.
* Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machining techniques for various metals.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies and quality standards (ISO9001, AS9100).
* Experience with APQP/PFMEA processes.
* Computer literate (MS Word, Excel).
* HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Aerospace or automotive sector experience desirable.
