Associate Director – HR Services (Recruitment, Consultancy and Talent Advisory Solutions) – NRG
We are working with a leading Law Firm with a strong reputation in housing disrepair and claimant litigation work, with offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a talented Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join their expanding team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a full caseload of housing disrepair matters from instruction through to completion.
* Handle both pre‑litigation and litigated files, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and protocols (including the Pre‑Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims).
* Draft and review legal documents such as letters of claim, particulars of claim, witness statements, and settlement agreements.
* Assess liability, quantum and evidence (including expert surveyor reports).
* Negotiate settlements, liaise with counsel, clients, and other parties.
* Ensure files are managed efficiently and within compliance standards.
* Meet billing and performance targets where applicable.
* Support the team’s development and mentor more junior fee earners (if applicable).
* Attend team meetings and training sessions at the Newcastle office at least twice per month if working remotely.
* Stay up to date with developments in housing disrepair law and litigation best practices.
Person Specification
* Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with current practising certificate.
* Minimum 2 years’ PQE in housing disrepair or civil litigation.
* Proven ability to handle a caseload independently through all stages.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Experience with case management systems (Proclaim preferred).
* Willingness to travel to Newcastle twice monthly for team collaboration.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
