Responsibilities
As an Asset Performance Advisor, you will provide technical leadership and drive performance across the Shropshire and Herefordshire Asset Performance Team, supporting work in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
* Guide the effective completion of the annual works programme and manage the maintenance, repair and improvement of flood risk assets from rivers and the coast.
* Ensure assets perform effectively, comply with legal requirements and internal policy, and deliver multiple benefits.
* Engage customers and provide technical advice on asset performance.
* Act as an incident responder, available to support stand‑by duty and receive additional payment and full training.
* Maintain incident duty readiness, live within 45 minutes of the base location and be able to swim.
Qualifications & Skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Understanding and experience in project/programme and asset management, with a Diploma level qualification in engineering or asset management desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, ability to coach or develop others, and experience with risk management procedures.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and practices, including CDM2015.
* Effective planning, multitasking, prioritisation and delivery within tight deadlines.
* Strong initiative, flexibility, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
* Proficient IT skills and data interpretation experience.
Location & Working Hours
Base location: Hafren House, Welshpool Rd, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY3 8BB. The role requires office working from the Shrewsbury office an average of 3 days per week and two days on site.
Additional Requirements
All candidates must live within 45 minutes of the base location, be able to swim, and hold a full UK driving licence.
