Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Manufacturing Location: Derry Department: Quality / Manufacturing Reports To: Quality Manager / Operations Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: My Client is seeking a meticulous and process-driven Quality Assurance Engineer to oversee and improve product quality and compliance in our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will ensure that products meet all quality standards before reaching customers and that manufacturing processes comply with internal specifications and external regulations. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures in line with ISO standards and other industry-specific requirements. Conduct inspections and audits of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods. Investigate product issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend process improvements. Assist in the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), control plans, and work instructions. Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, FDA, GMP, depending on the industry). Participate in internal and external audits, including customer and certification body audits. Train staff on quality standards and best practices. Qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. 25 years of quality assurance or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Control Charts). Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards. Experience with inspection equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs). Preferred: Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices, food manufacturing). Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification. Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and statistical software (e.g., Minitab). Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
