and main responsibilities
To support the operational management of the Maternity Clinical Education Team to deliver the Preceptorship Program for band 5 Midwives supporting the clinical education strategy under the direction of the Consultant Midwife, ensuring that this is evidence based and aligned with Trust policy and procedure, supporting the NHS England National Preceptorship Framework for Midwifery to promote high quality patient care and patient safety.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Qualified Midwife currently practising and on the NMC register.
2. Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
3. Post registration qualification at degree level
4. Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
5. Mentorship Qualification
Desirable criteria
6. Advanced practice MSc or working towards
7. Leadership and management qualification
8. Teaching and assessment qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
9. Substantive Midwifery Experience •Able to demonstrate a good and current knowledge of specialist area current practice •Experience in audits and research • •Experience in developing and delivering action plans
10. An ability to set gold standards of care
11. Substanted experience in area of speciality
12. Experience in Leading
13. Experience in supervising and facilitating both pre-registered students and qualified and newly-qualified midwives in practice
14. Experience of managing change on service-related projects Experience and ability in Teaching and Assessing

16. SLIP/CLIP awareness
17. Provide 1:1 support to Newly Qualified and overseas and Preceptorship midwives
18. Good Organisational skills required to support midwives across Child Health the service

21. Ability to keep up to date with evidence-based practice and effectively communicate this
