Opportunity for an experienced New Product Introduction Engineer / Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer / Hardware Engineer to join an established SME manufacturing business as they embark on a sustained growth path following significant new business wins. Your expertise of production engineering complex electro-mechanical assemblies will allow the business to sustain growth and provide DfA and DfM guidance to their customers.
What you’ll be doing:
* Responsible for engineering the manufacture of complex electro-mechanical assemblies from prototyping through to volume launch
* Review Customers Technical Documentation to establish the Production and Test Requirements.
* Work with internal teams and provide direction towards Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT), defining Manufacturing and supporting the incorporation of the Test strategies for the product taking into account Cost, Efficiency and Quality.
* Develop all required supporting documentation, i.e. Process instructions, Work Instructions, Test Instructions, Schematics, TPM requirements, H&S risk assessment etc
* Support the management and improvement of NPI processes and procedures
What you will bring to the role:
* Relevant engineering qualification
* Experience operating in a fast paced new product development and introduction environment with responsibility for production engineering of complex electro-mechanical assemblies
* Hardware and SMT layout design skills
* Able to demonstrate detailed understanding of DfM, DfA and DfT
* Extensive knowledge of production, QA and CI processes
* Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects to tight timescales
