Your Role at a Glance
* Own and drive the portfolio intelligence that shapes how Wayflyer manages portfolio performance and risk. You’ll connect credit data, commercial outcomes, and market trends to help leadership make smarter, faster, and more profitable credit decisions.
* Lead portfolio monitoring and performance reviews, turning insights into actionable recommendations that influence underwriting standards, pricing, and exposure management.
* Develop and maintain the monthly portfolio reporting pack for senior leadership, bringing clarity on trends, concentrations, early signals, and performance against plan.
* Build dashboards, KPIs, and Early Warning Systems (EWS) that go beyond tracking, enabling proactive management of emerging risks and opportunities.
* Work closely with Revenue, Underwriting, Decision Science, and Finance to align credit and commercial objectives, ensuring growth is achieved within risk appetite and funding constraints.
* Continuously learn from portfolio performance and credit losses, feeding insights back into policy, underwriting, and product design to strengthen future outcomes.
* Champion a culture of data‑driven, evidence‑based portfolio steering, making credit strategy an enabler of Wayflyer’s growth.
What Makes You a Great Fit
* 6‑8+ years of experience in credit risk, portfolio strategy, or lending performance management.
* Deep understanding of SME, Wholesale, or Ecommerce credit portfolios, and how credit, pricing, and growth interact.
* Proven ability to interpret portfolio data and translate it into strategic recommendations that shape risk and commercial decisions.
* Strong proficiency in BI tools (Looker, Omni, Power BI, Tableau) and ability to collaborate effectively with Data and Engineering teams.
* Experience analysing loss performance and using those insights to refine underwriting, policy, or pricing frameworks.
* Strategic mindset with comfort presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
* High attention to accuracy and detail, with strong storytelling skills, able to turn data into a narrative that drives action.
* Experience designing and maintaining Early Warning Systems or portfolio monitoring tools.
How You’ll Stand Out
* Experience in fintech, alternative lending, or high‑growth credit environments.
* Familiarity with SQL or Python for deep‑dive analysis and querying.
* Understanding of funding structures or securitisations and their impact on portfolio strategy.
* Exposure to incentive design or portfolio performance frameworks for commercial teams.
* Advanced degree or professional qualification in finance, economics, or risk management (CFA, FRM, or equivalent).
