The Opportunity We’re looking for a Logistics & Transportation Coordinator to join our client in Manchester. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of their supply chain operation — scheduling transportation, liaising with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring that their products are delivered on time and in full. You’ll work with a wide range of systems including SAP, WM and TMS, supporting both bulk and packed goods distribution across domestic and international markets. You’ll play a key role in maintaining cost efficiency, driving logistics performance, and ensuring customs compliance. Your Duties and Responsibilities Will Be Schedule transportation of bulk and packed products for the Carrington PP plant, both in the UK and globally. Liaise with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and freight forwarders to ensure effective warehouse and shipping coordination. Prepare customs documentation and ensure all shipping requirements are accurately transmitted to the warehouse teams. Manage SAP-related transport costs including customer returns, rerouting, demurrage and other surcharges. Coordinate container loading activities and track deliveries via the Delivery Due List (DDL). Communicate with hauliers, sales teams, and customer services to ensure timely, efficient deliveries. Investigate haulier issues and contribute to performance reviews and improvement initiatives. Engage in cross-functional collaboration with scheduling, warehouse, and stock management teams. Support “Bags to Bulk” transitions and ensure compliance with customer-specific delivery requirements. Develop multi-functional skills within the logistics team to support business continuity and personal growth. You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade A–C. At least 5 years’ experience in a similar shipping/logistics role. Solid experience working with SAP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. It’s Great if You Also Have the Following Experience dealing with customs procedures and international freight. Confidence in conducting annual haulier performance reviews. An interest in developing leadership skills or growing into a senior logistics role. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transport management systems (TMS).
