Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 physiotherapist to work at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The post is a Band 6 post with rotational periods in the Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU) and at the two Acute Stroke and Rehabilitation Units at North Tyneside and Wansbeck. The successful applicant will join our friendly teams and work between North Tyneside General Hospital, Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital at Cramlington and Wansbeck General Hospital. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the seven-day working and Bank Holiday rota for inpatient services and contribute to the respiratory service at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital, including an evening shadow on-call rota and occasional night-shift commitment. Responsibilities
* To assess, diagnose and treat an independent clinical caseload within the stroke speciality.
* To work as part of the physiotherapy team under the guidance and support of more experienced highly specialist senior physiotherapy staff.
* To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care to support working towards Stroke National Clinical Guidelines and SSNAP targets.
* To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This includes engaging, enabling and empowering others; using coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement; and facilitating team working and collaboration within teams, departments and across organisational boundaries.
* Contribute to student education. Student educator status is desirable.
* To support the day-to-day leadership and organisation of the team.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* BSC Honours degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent experience and/or qualification
* Registered Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
* Evidence of continued professional development through self directed learning, in-service training record and attendance at relevant short postgraduate courses.
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Student training qualification provided by University
Experience and Knowledge (Essential)
* Candidates should have completed their postgraduate core rotations
* Evidence of developing neuro-muscular handling skills
Experience and Knowledge (Desirable)
* Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
* Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
Other Requirements (Essential)
* It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. The Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.
