Overview
Assistant Practitioner or Trainee Assistant Practitioner role at NHS Scotland. We are currently seeking applications from experienced advanced nurse/clinical practitioners to join the ANP service and Medicine for the Elderly team within Raigmore Hospital. The post holder will work alongside AHPs and our existing Senior ANP within the new frailty assessment area, in reach to acute admission areas and emergency department, and in acute care of the elderly wards. The service will initially run 5 days per week (Monday to Friday daytime); future models may extend to 7 days, with possible evenings/weekends. Full or part-time hours on fixed-term basis; secondments considered.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and administrative support to Medical, AHP and Nursing staff.
* Undertake a range of clinical duties including minor procedures (venepuncture, cannulation, catheterisation).
* Assist with medical procedures and support medical emergency and cardiac arrest teams.
* Work independently and with supervision; the post-holder will carry out roles and tasks as delegated.
* Work in and out of hours as required (days, evenings and weekends).
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum standard grade pass in English and two other national grade passes; good written and spoken English.
* Completed a relevant qualification at SCQF level 7-8 or above (e.g., Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/D) or Professional Development Award (PDA) at Level 8).
* Candidates not in possession of the above qualifications may be considered for a Trainee Assistant Practitioner post with a specified training programme to achieve SCQF level 7-8; if unable to complete, redeployment may occur.
* Post holder will be supported by a practice development nurse and aligned to NHSH and NES HCSW competency frameworks.
