Support Worker – SEN Schools (Varied Needs)
Full-Time | Long-Term | Driver Essential | Bristol & Surrounding Areas
A full UK driving licence is essential, as transport between schools and off-site activities is part of the role.
You’ll be supporting pupils with a wide variety of SEN needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication challenges, sensory needs, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. Every day is different, and the right Support Worker will find the role both challenging and incredibly rewarding.
We’re looking for a Support Worker who:
1. Is calm, patient, and adaptable to different settings and pupil needs
2. Holds a full UK driving licence and can safely transport pupils
3. Has experience in SEN, SEMH, care, or youth work (or a strong interest in working in these areas)
4. Understands that behaviour is communication and adapts their approach accordingly
5. Builds trust quickly and maintains consistency for the pupils they support
6. Works well alongside teachers, TAs, therapists, and pastoral staff
7. Can manage challenging situations professionally and safely
8. Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
9. Wants a long-term role where their support really matters
About the Role
10. Full-time, long-term Support Worker role across varied SEN schools
11. Supporting pupils with a broad range of needs, including communication, learning, sensory, and SEMH challenges
12. Driving pupils to and from school, appointments, or off-site activities
13. Providing 1:1 support, small group support, and general classroom assistance
14. Helping pupils with emotional regulation, independence, routines, and engagement
15. Working closely with teaching staff and wider multidisciplinary teams
16. Making a lasting difference to pupils’ confidence, learning, and wellbeing
The role begins on a temporary contract, with a strong opportunity to become permanent for the right Support Worker.
