To find out more about NHS Ayrshire and Arran please visit our website - NHS Ayrshire & Arran - Home (nhsaaa.net) Position: PMO Senior Information Analyst An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PMO Senior Information Analyst within our Directorate of Transformation & Sustainability based at Ailsa Hospital, however, we have adopted a distributed working approach dependent on service need. Hours and Shift Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday This post is offered on a permanent basis. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings What you will do: Job Purpose: Using extensive skills and expertise in the field of data analysis and modelling the post holder will analyse and present data, analytics and modelling for a range of purposes. They will provide highly complex datasets, tables, graphical displays of data and modelling and report their analyses for the purposes of transformational and efficiency programmes to meet organisational need. They will supply a range of data, analytical and modelling products as well as providing advice on the use and interpretation of data analysis to aid clinical and management decision making and support the Principle PMO Analyst/Team Manager in developing a comprehensive and responsive analytic and modelling service to meet the PMO and wider organisation’s needs. The post holder will provide a responsive service in the provision of data and information as part of a co-ordinated service, to support the Acute Directorate and Corporate Directorates in intelligence led decision making. The post holder will also be required to provide support to others in developing their understanding of the uses of data, assumptions needed in the interpretation of data, and be able and willing to provide advice on matters of data quality. For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job: Undergraduate degree in a numerate subject or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience in a numerate discipline. Ability to demonstrate and communicate a practical and theoretical understanding of data analysis and interpretation. Highly proficient in data analysis with excellent numeracy and statistical skills. Recent experience of working in the NHS, other public sector or relevant organisations within a relevant role associated with information management. Detailed knowledge of SMR data sets and an in-depth specialist knowledge and experience of application of NHS data definitions, information standards and policies. Knowledge of practical application of software packages in support of the key result areas including knowledge of statistical and geographical software packages. Ability and demonstrable experience in the drafting and presentation of papers, reports and related correspondence for the NHS Board, associated Governance groups, Directors and senior managers. A pragmatic and flexible approach to problem solving. Developed awareness of the political sensitivity of information and ability, and mental agility, to work through issues and take cognisance of the impact of the presentation of data and intelligence. Highly developed interpersonal and communication and influencing skills (both written and oral) and an ability to establish productive working relationships.
