Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
1-year Temporary Contract (could be extended if funding is continued)
The role is for 30 hours per week (8:30 – 3:30 Monday to Friday) during term time only.

Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one support or small group interventions to students with SEN needs.
2. Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and adapted lessons based on a child’s personalised plan.
3. Foster positive relationships with children, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
4. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised plans.
5. Create a safe and supportive learning environment conducive to the diverse needs of our students.
6. Support children with intimate care needs alongside your team members.
Requirements
1. Experience working with children with SEN needs.
2. A patient, empathetic, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the classroom environment.
5. Qualifications and skills such as proficiency in Makaton or experience working with students with specific disabilities (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, physical disabilities, speech/language needs, SEMH needs).
6. Commitment to supporting intimate care needs of children alongside other team members.
7. Knowledge of child development, ideally with experience of EYFS.
