Mechanical Design Engineer – MEP (Building Services)
Location: Plymouth, United Kingdom.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the day‑to‑day technical delivery of electrical design services on multi‑disciplinary building projects. You will oversee the production of high‑quality design deliverables, support the commercial success of projects through timely invoicing, WIP management, and workload/resource planning, and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
* Lead the day‑to‑day technical delivery of electrical design services on multi‑disciplinary building projects.
* Oversee the production of high‑quality design deliverables, including specifications, drawings, and schedules.
* Support the commercial success of projects through timely invoicing, WIP management, and workload/resource planning.
* Mentor junior team members, including graduates and apprentices, and play a key role in their career development.
About You
You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for delivering sustainable solutions for your clients and will have the following:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the UK, ideally with a track record of delivering both electrical and M&E solutions across varied building sectors.
* Familiarity with BIM processes and tools, including Revit.
* A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
* A relevant qualification (HNC, HND, Bachelors, or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering or building services.
* Chartered status or working towards it.
