Moor Trees – creating native woodland in Devon Location: Principal sites are Moor Trees tree nurseries – Broadley and Dartington. Occasionally, the office, South Brent. Seed collection at various locations around South Devon. Hours: 30 hours per week and regular Sundays during the year especially during Seed Gathering Season and Tree Planting Season, depending on business need. A unique role working at one of the largest community tree nurseries in the country growing from seed local provenance trees to be utilised in woodland creation schemes across Dartmoor in support of Moor Trees’ vision to increase the area of woodland to a third by 2050. This role will be involved in all aspects of tree production and part of a small operational team which also includes seasonal workers and a dedicated team of volunteers. It is important that you have good practical experience and working knowledge of biosecurity and plant health measures. You must be able to provide a welcoming, enjoyable, and engaging experience for those volunteers. In your role you will work within a small team so you will be willing to become involved in all aspects of the organisation.
